We cater for 15 children in our Toddler room ranging in age from 2 to 3 ½ years. We have two staff that cares for this group and they share the toileting and nappy change room with the nursery.
The Toddler room is large and bright and is divided up into a variety of play areas. The Toddler room has low self help shelves and defined play areas for the children to explore and express themselves. The Toddlers share the play garden with the Kindy group which includes a fixed playground, sandpit and lots of play equipment, accessible from our storage shed.
Toddlers are very keen to learn self help skills so to further encourage this the children have their own toilet and hand basin in the change room and steps to climb up and down to the nappy change mat. The children sleep on a mat with sheets stored in individual pockets and all linen is washed weekly or as needed.
Each child has an individual hat pocket and we encourage them to wear hats whenever outside and we provide sunblock.
